If your dog has matts that means its been too long between grooms. We can discuss a better grooming timeline, and brushing and combing techniques for the future but right now we need to get those uncomfortable matts off the dog.
If your dog has very tight matting, or matting over the majority of the body, there is no option but to shave it.
